"Key Management Strategies for Uncertain Times"

A Leadership Workshop Series for Small Business

Leading a small business in these changing times is more challenging than ever.  How do you handle change?  How do you communicate bad news?  How do you develop and coach your team in uncertain times?

Join us as we explore eight, 3-hour management workshops including:

DiSC Personal Behaviors -- Understanding Your Personal and Leadership Style - March 12, 2009

This workshop helps managers and leaders develop their management styles to meet increased effectiveness in different situations when interacting with employees. Participants will learn strategies to improve communication and increase employee engagement.

Supporting Change -- March 26, 2009

Supporting Change provides the tools managers need to understand and interpret change – in order to more successfully manage their team through it. By working to support change while addressing the team’s comfort level with that change, the manager can more effectively facilitate acceptance of a new way of doing things.

Essential Skills of Leadership - April 9, 2009

Essential Skills of Leadership is the first step to developing successful managers. By focusing on three critical management skills, the program establishes a methodology for productive interactions between team members and team leaders. ESL helps experienced managers, new managers, and aspiring managers refocus on the basics – the skills required to manage the individual while also leading the team.

Providing Performance Feedback - April 23, 2009

We all want to know how we’re doing. Even though we constantly self-evaluate our performance, we really can’t improve at our job unless someone else takes the time to point out the strengths and weaknesses in our work. Providing Performance Feedback (PPF) provides the tools required to adjust individual performance. With its focus on logical processes and reasonable commitments, PPF can help even experienced managers evaluate and improve performance more effectively. Using the PPF process with their team members, managers demonstrate their commitment to an open and consistent performance improvement process.

Developing and Coaching Others - May 7, 2009

Developing and Coaching Others is about how managers can effectively and successfully develop and coach their team members to become better and more consistent performers. The program will help your managers learn the specifics of how they can effectively impact the learning process and coaching moments of their teams to make the difference.

DiSC Personal Behaviors -- Understanding Your Personal and Leadership Style - March 12, 2009Coaching Job Skills - May 21, 2009

Coaching Job Skills provides the tools necessary to successfully coach individuals to perform a job, a task, or a skill. In order to achieve results, coaching must go beyond just showing how to do something. Coaching involves observing, analyzing demonstrating, and giving feedback. It’s a process of developing relationships with team members - relationships that ultimately can build the trust and respect that are the foundation of successful organizations.

Essential Skills of Communication - June 4, 2009

Essential Skills of Communication provides the tools necessary to develop clear, concise messages. Focusing on communication as a two-way process, the program can help even experienced managers improve their messages by making them clear, well organized and aimed at the needs and interests of the listener. By developing the essential skills of communicating, managers improve relations with their team members and increase productivity.

Developing Performance Goals - June 18, 2009

Often small businesses or departments/teams within organizations struggle with defining what their goals, vision, or mission is; however, it’s also almost impossible to expect your team members to do their jobs in a way that really aligns with business goals unless they have a well-defined process that you implement.  This program focuses on developing SMART-based performance goals and standards. What’s a SMART goal? It’s one that’s Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results-oriented, and Time-framed.

The workshops will be held every other week (beginning on March 12, 2009) at the Harmon Golf Club in Rockland, MA.

The fee for each workshop is $120.  Or $85 per workshop if you enroll in all 8 (A $280 savings).
